Tinkering has been at the heart of every career move and job opportunity that has come my way over the last 25 years. It's been the fuel for personal and career growth that has taken me from Bus Boy to Creative Director, Envelope Stuffer to Educator, and Paper Carrier to Software Partner.

In today's fast paced work environment it can be very easy to get swallowed by endless to-do lists and overflowing inboxes. How can you move forward and grow? For me that answer has been tinkering. Every time I have felt trapped by a work situation that has outgrown its usefulness, tinkering has been my life raft. And it wasn't always necessary for me to change jobs. There were opportunities right under my nose.
